How are you doing? Life is probably moving quickly. I know it is for me. My “day job” has only gotten busier. I’m serving in every way I can, while balancing that with family and sleep. It is essential to make sure we are not serving and letting our relationship with God wane.

So how about you? I know we’ve been challenging everyone to step up to the plate. But we want to make sure you are not over-taxing yourself. You have responsibilities at home, at work - a mission field that we want you to still have the energy to reach. We don’t expect you to do it alone!

So how is your prayer time? Are you finding time, making time? No one is going to slap you on the wrist - but we both know that prayer is the glue of our relationships, both with God and man. Please make it a priority if you are actively taking part in ministry. It will continue to give you hope and calm doubts and fears meant to crush you.

How is your time being spent in God’s word? We know it is important, but we often don’t plan like it’s important. We must constantly remind ourselves who God is, what he has done for us, and what he continues to do - not to mention the hope we have for the future in God’s promises. It is in God’s word that we find comfort and strength.

Have you found a small group to belong to? If not, I imagine you will have a much harder time coping with stress, the daily challenges, and Satan’s outright attacks. And you will probably be frustrated in your attempts to apply God’s word outside te community of grace.

Remember, there is always someone to talk to. Email me. Grab John, Derek, Lee or one of the new deacons. Grab someone who stands out as a leader or friend. Surround yourself with God;s people and ask God to build your faith. There’s more to be done in this city! And God is still moving within us.
